オーストリー

now, here is an important piece of news:
the austrian foreign department reportedly advised its embassy in tokyo to promote the new expression オーストリー (ôstorî) instead of the common japanese word オーストリア (ôsutoria) to prevent confusion with the term for australia オーストラリア (ôsutoraria). in addition to well-grounded doubts about wether the japanese will ever adopt this neologism, a creeping feeling of unfairness arises. as a concerned austrian in japanese grammatics class put it: "why should austria change it's japanese denotation? after all we were here before the australians, weren't we?"

if you ever wondered what daruman has been up to in the course of this past month, well, i can tell you that he just sat his mid-term tests, that he is increasingly in love with his studies and that he has found himself a nice job. maybe this explains why, contrary to any rumours you might have heard, he is still single. any further details are, of course, strictly classified.
